Lindab Standardizes Document Output Across 20+ Entities with Lasernet & ERP Mechanics

Lindab is a leading manufacturer of ventilation systems and industrial building products that has over 200 locations operating in 20+ countries throughout Europe and the world. Founded in 1959, the company is based in Sweden and is publicly listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm.

Lindab runs Dynamics 365 F&O as its ERP system and previously was using Microsoft’s SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to update its documents prior to making the switch to Lasernet.

The Challenge

Lindab has been steadily making acquisitions and expanding its operations into new markets for several years now. Part of what precipitated the change from using SSRS to Lasernet was the need to scale its document processes across its different global entities. Part of the challenge for Lindab was updating and maintaining its document templates for its newest business entities. Using SSRS which is heavily dependent upon developers, for making even the smallest of updates, was not a sustainable solution to scale its document processes to be in line with its business growth.

Lindab uses many different industry specific document templates, including ones for sales quotations, invoices, packing slips/labels and purchase orders. These templates necessitated consistency in its branding and formatting for many of its newest business entities where language differences, compliance requirements and other localization concerns also needed to be adopted.

As Lindab’s Lasernet support partner, the ERP Mechanics team was tasked to address this effort.

The Solution

The work began by evaluating Lindab’s existing document template library, identifying where there were gaps and formatting inconsistencies. As Lindab began onboarding Dynamics 365 F&O and Lasernet to its newest business entities one at a time, the ERP Mechanics team worked in parallel to update each business entity’s business documents to ensure consistency with its branding as well as address industry specific and localization requirements. Leveraging the ease of use and flexibility of Lasernet greatly reduced the time and workload needed to share configurations and standardizations once an established process was in place to onboard new entities.

This has meant that every business entity for every respective country has gone online with Dynamics 365 F&O and Lasernet on time and on budget so far.

“As a Dynamics 365 F&O and Lasernet team that has a lot of international experience and industry knowledge, a multi-country roll out project like this falls perfectly within our sweet spot. We’ve been working with Lindab for a while now and we’re proud to help them streamline their document management processes across the globe and advance their future growth initiatives.” says Karolis Aleknavičius, CEO, ERP Mechanics.
