ERP Mechanics Supports Capital Lighting Fixture’s Document Management Needs During New ERP Implementation

Capital Lighting Fixture Company is a commercial manufacturer and distributor of lighting fixtures based in Flowery Branch, Georgia with over 1500 showroom partners and authorized dealers across the United States and Canada.

When Capital Lighting implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 as their ERP system over a decade ago, they also began using Lasernet as their document management solution. They have leaned on Lasernet to customize and create a seamless look and feel with all their customer-facing documents including invoices, statements, shipping labels, and order confirmations.

The Challenge

Capital Lighting decided it was time to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O; however, instead of treating it as an upgrade to their current AX 2012 system, they decided to implement D365 F&O as a completely new project in parallel. The idea being that once implemented they would transition over their usage to the new system. This process was different than a normal system upgrade and therefore the approach with handling the transition of Lasernet from one system to another has required its own project as well.

As an experienced Lasernet partner, Capital Lighting chose ERP Mechanics for this project.

“I am pleased to recommend ERP Mechanics for their outstanding work with Capital Lighting. Their team demonstrated exceptional expertise and a deep understanding of our business needs, which was instrumental in the successful implementation of our ERP system.

From the outset, ERP Mechanics took the time to thoroughly assess our requirements and align their solutions with our operational goals. Their knowledgeable staff not only brought valuable insights but also fostered a collaborative atmosphere that made the entire process seamless,” says Yves Grisard-Van Roey, Information System Manager, Capital Lighting

The Solution

The project involved recreating all of Capital Lighting’s Lasernet documents to accommodate the new D365 F&O data along with evaluating their existing business processes. Due to the differences between AX2012 and D365 F&O, this evaluation identified what Lasernet fields were necessary to align with the new system’s data. In addition, one of the other priorities in this work has also been to seamlessly preserve the company identity in the new forms.

“We’re proud to have been selected by Capital Lighting to help them go through this big transition that has had an impact on all areas of their business. Our deep experience in working with companies like Capital Lighting as a Lasernet partner has served us well in being able to properly support them,” says Karolis Aleknavičius, CEO, ERP Mechanics.
